Welcome our new public-health organizer, Cheryl Miller!
A lifelong Chicagoan and veteran cab-driver, Cheryl has lived and worked on the southside most of her life. She has been active in social justice causes ranging from anti-war and peace movements, anti-domestic violence, and AIDS activism. Most recently, Cheryl helped to lead the fight to organize a union for cab drivers.
She believes people sharing stories of their lived experiences is powerful and can engender dramatic societal change. Cheryl is excited to be a part of STOP's fight for structural changes to create accessibility, equity, and justice for our communities.
Cheryl will take over for mental-health organizer Amika in an updated role, as STOP's new public-health organizer, supporting the movement for the human right to health care through the preservation and improvement of health services on the southside -- like police-free mental-health first response!
